Ours is a small historical museum, so we have NO experience or training in art conservation. A painting from a local painter has come to us, and is apparently pastel on Masonite, painted before 1940. It was in a frame with glass on the pastel surface. We removed the frame and glass and now don’t know what to do to conserve the surface and make it ready to hang again. Any help with how to handle this would be appreciated!
