This was posted on the Field Service listserv:

In preparation for an upcoming education program on fundraising for conservation and collections care, I am looking for case studies of innovative ways to raise funds. Examples that come to mind are the “Adopt-a-Carousel” or “Adopt-a-Dot” types of campaigns and the “visible conservation” that the National Trust does in the U.K. I’m sure there are many other great ideas out there to emulate. Feel free to toot your own horn, or steer me to other institutions. A one or two sentence description is all I need right now — I’ll follow up if more information is neeeded. Many thanks, –Eric

Hi Janice, this is actually a topic we’re working on bringing to the community via a live chat event in the coming months. In the meantime, “Capitalize on Collections Care” is a great resource that also covers adoption programs. You can download it for free here: http://www.heritagepreservation.org/PDFS/COClo.pdf. I’m looking forward to the responses to this post!

      All the best,
      Jenny Wiley, Heritage Preservation
