Welcome to Connecting to Collections Care › Forums › Group Forums › C2C Community Archives – 2012 through 2014 › Preservation Assessments [PSAP]
Hi All,
I just wanted to share a bit about the Preservation Self-Assessment Program (or “PSAP“), a web application being developed here at the University of Illinois Library (funded by the IMLS) that will be featured in November’s C2C webinar on preservation assessment and collections care.
For those who aren’t familiar, the PSAP is a forthcoming (free!) online tool designed to aid collection managers (in special collections, archives, museums, historical societies) in performing assessments of their collections. Through targeted, format-based evaluation, the PSAP produces preservation priorities and collection stats for users.
Just last week, a significant component of the tool was completed—what we’re calling the Format ID Guide. It’s an educational resource loaded with info (and images, videos) on the formats/materials and other factors the PSAP addresses.
We’re very proud of it—so please have a look and let us know what you think of v1.0 of the ID Guide! Contact psap@library.illinois.edu with any questions you may have, and hopefully we’ll see you at the C2C webinar on November 5!
Thanks!
