Hi,
We recently came across a box of photoengraved plates in our Special Collections. I know there was a similar discussion in 2012 about zinc and copper etching plates. One person described creating enclosures for the plates. There weren’t any pictures. If anyone who participated in the previous conversation could please send any advise, instructions or suggestions, that would be great. I’ve never dealt with this type of artifact before and am kind of at a lost. I just know the plates cannot stay in the cardboard box we found them in. There were differing opinions from the 2012 conversation; I am inclined to store the plates horizontally rather than vertically but what is the best option to cushion them from being stored on top of each other?
Thanks,
Catherine Gates-Shepherd
Here’s a link to that discussion so no one needs to hunt it down! Hoping you can get a response Catherine. -Jenny
