Welcome to Connecting to Collections Care › Forums › Group Forums › C2C Community Archives – 2012 through 2014 › Mold
I have some items that have been isolated from the collection which may have mold on them. They are currently stored in a room separate from storage in plastic or plastic containers. I need to know what steps I can take to determine if mold is present. If mold is present, then I need to know how to stabilize the pieces.
Thanks
Faith:
C2C has some excellent info about identifying and addressing issues of mold in the Webinar Archives . It is my limited understanding that active mold should be frozen (depending on the artifact), and inactive mold can possibly be vacuumed with a HEPA unit … professional advice is available from the links below. Hope this helps.
