A discussion in another thread has led me to be curious about your ( any user of C2C) experiences creating and or using education collections. These are officially accessioned items kept separate from main collections with the intention that they be handled, worn, or even used by members of the public. Feel free to answer any or all of  the questions. Also feel free to answer questions I haven’t even asked

When is it appropriate to deaccession items from a collection in order to create an education collection?

      What criteria do you use?

Do you prefer authentic items/original objects/historic artifacts or would you rather have reproductions?

Where do you draw the line at the type of use involved? For example, a teacup: Just handling? Could it hold tea? Could a member of the public, or more likely a historical reenactor even drink out of it?
