I would like to seal a museum showcase door for a client of mine. The showcase is made from powder-coated aluminium and currently has a rubber seal but this has proven to be less than effective and is letting in particulates such as dust.
I was wondering what materials I should / should not use for the gasket and sealant?
Initially, I was thinking of using a standard rubber gasket / seal and a ph-neutral silicone, such as Soudal Silirub 2.
Can you please advise?
I am also interested in this topic. We are having issues sealing glass panels and finished wrought iron doors of a small gallery in our landmarked building. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
