Hi there,
In case anybody is thinking about using LEDs in their exhibition areas, I recently wrote a post for Shelburne Museum’s blog describing our process of evaluating these lights and our experience using them over the last 8 years http://shelburnemuseum.blogspot.com/2011/11/looking-into-light.html. Among the links within the post is Rick Kerschner’s talk on practical climate control and lighting for historic houses that he gave at the New England Archivist’s meeting at Simmons College in 2008 and a link to request a copy of the Getty Conservation Institute’s recently released Guidelines for Selecting Solid State Lighting for Museums. If this is something you’re considering for your institution, I hope you’ll find this useful.
