At the museum I’m currently working at one of our butchers blocks has grown mold. Any thoughts about the best way to remove the mold and prevent it from coming back??
The standard method for cleaning mold is to use a mixture of 3 parts alcohol to 1 part distilled water to wipe down surfaces. Another thing which is worth doing is wiping the surface with a clean microfiber cloth – this removes the grease residue which acts as food reservoir for the mold. Cleaning with microfiber can reduce the regrowth of mold to one-third of the amount that can regrow after using other cleaning methods.
Remember to protect yourself against breathing in mold spores or alcohol and to dispose of the waste appropriately.
Hope this helps
Thanks for the advice!
