For images it is hard to beat Picasa, free from Google. It will find every image on your system, and allow you to search, to rename, add tags, titles, metadata, reorganise, create discs and slideshows, search by faces, export, resize, do simple edits (without affecting the original image), batch organise, backup online, share …. all without adding load to your computer system because it doesn’t copy the images, it just stores the data of where and what they are. It is simply brilliant.
OK, that’s half the problem sorted. Now, anyone got a good program for the documents?
